- Watch out for any late frosts and protect
your plants with fleece if necessary
- Earth up potatoes to protect the young shoots
from frost
- Start mowing your lawn regularly (this would
usually be twice a week)
- Water any new plants during dry spells of
weather
- Regularly hoe away weeds before they start
flowering
- Ventilate greenhouses and polythene tunnels
on warm, sunny days
- Stake any tall growing herbaceous perennials
- Wait for the foliage to die down before mowing
over bulbs planted in grass
- Feed fruit trees, bushes and canes
- Plant out summer bedding at the end of the
month
