- Prune wisteria and tie in the new growth
- Prune fruit trees that have been trained
in espalier, cordon or fan shapes
- Deadhead flowers regularly to promote repeat
blooms
- Water everything well especially in hot dry
spells
- Cut gladioli for displaying indoors but leave
at least four leaves on each plant
- Harvest sweetcorn and other vegetables
- Continue cutting out old fruited canes on
raspberries
- Lift and pot up rooted strawberry runners
- Keep ponds and water features topped up
- Improve the structure of the soil with green
manures
